From a humble beginning in 2006 with only 20 members, the Guitar Ensemble has grown both in character and strength. This year we managed to recruit a total of 26 secondary 1 members, making a total of 46 members in the ensemble. As a relatively new CCA, the ensemble too experienced its fair share of teething problems especially in the initial stages. However, with the support, commitment and dedication shown by its pioneer members, the ensemble managed to overcome these challenges.
We took part in SYF 2007, 2009 and was awarded Bronze and Silver respectively. The students practiced very hard to ensure a great performance for the competition. Practices were intensified to 3 times a week in preparation for this major project. The members have shown resilience in improving their guitar playing skills, and was rewarded in this event.
The ensemble is currently under the guidance and instruction of Mr Alvyn Eng.

hello guitarists!
How are your few days back at school? :)
Anyway, here's an update of what we did today, more of less. [senior batch]
we were told how to file our nails so it would be easier for us to play the guitar and will not have our nails getting trapped in the strings problem anymore :)
Those with short nails, please grow them! You have until the first week of FEBRURAY!
Then we did the scales i guess? sorry i went off halfway, so i didnt know whata happened after 4pm. Haha. Hope you guys did okay for the syf piece~
Please be reminded that there will be Practice THIS FRIDAY [7 JAN 2011] - 2pm to 5pm. BOTH JUNIOR AND SENIORS ARE INVOLVED.

Attendance today was not as good as expected especially for the JUNIORS. Many of you didnt turn up for practice today. YOU are supposed to find out when is practice dates and YOU are supposed to ask around and not wait for us to tell you. Ask the teacher in charge or even your friends. You can also contact me at jo-annegiamm@hotmail.com . You should have the initiative to ask. Unsure of anything can add me on msn or email me. There's no reason that you wont be updated about practices.

ALL PRACTICE DATES AND TIMINGS WILL BE POSTED HERE ONCE I RECEIEVE THE NEWS. YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO CHECK THIS BLOG YOURSELF.

there will be a CCA open house on THIS COMING SATURDAY [8 JAN 2011]. BOTH SENIOR AND JUNIORS ARE INVOLVED IN THIS EVENT. The Juniors are incharge of the Guitar Booth and the Seniors are to focus on the performance which will be held on that day. I think flyers will also be printed to promote our cca. The timing is still unconfirmed, so please check back again or COME ON FRIDAY FOR PRACTICE to find out for yourself. We will be practicing for the Open House i guess. [Seniors]
