Hello all :)
Well, i have not been updating much cos its been quite a hectic week/couple of weeks.
Anyway, we finished movement C today~ AWESOME :D Its an accomplishment right?
But wait, dont be too complacent yet! We might have finished the song, but we're still far away from the actual mark. We managed to finished ALL the movements today continuously, which was great :) The last time we played this, we screwed up big time at Movement C.
So as you guys can hear for yourselves, we've improved abit :) -clapsclaps-
Your Section Leaders and members have put in alot of effort in coaching you and guiding you. So please dont let them down. PLEASE. PRACTICE. AT. HOME. Some of the section leaders might have pointed out your weak bars in which YOU have to master it ASAP. And even Mr Eng himself have also pointed out section by section on which bars we need to improve on.
So please work on those, or rather focus more on those during Sectionals.
There is actually a whole bunch of things coming up and all of us are involved. We also have new sets of rules or rather some basic ones.
- Starting from THIS WEEK, we have to go back to practice on SATURDAYS; 8 - 11AM. Some of the saturdays we might not have practice due to one reason or another, but till then, we have practice on saturdays. Cancellation of practices will be told to you via THIS BLOG / SMS / Notice.
[The following is a summary of the paper/notice that you have received today.
- ALL members are to arrive 15 MINUTES earlier before the designated time, so as to do some administrative stuff (set up the chairs, tune guitars etc.)
- You should have your A4 BLACK FILE, PERSONAL CLIP-ON TUNER & PENCIL[!!!!] for every practice/event.
- Failure to attend any practice, please pass your Parent's Letter/ MC to any teacher-in-charge the very next practice. No attendance will be given for any non-valid absence.
- Members are to also observe the School values and greet the teachers & instructer before every practice. And also thank them after practice.
- Members are to arrange back the tables and chairs neatly after every practice.
- Members must strive to MEMORISE their parts at least 1 MONTH before the actual event.
- All members are to respect and help one another.

- 1 March 2011 [Tuesday] ; SYF Soundtest @ Republic Poly. 2-4pm.
- 14 March 2011 [Monday] ; Guitar Exchange Programme @ National JC. 1-6pm.
- 15 March 2011 [Tuesday] ; March Holiday Guitar Practice. 8-12nn.
- 17 March 2011 [Thursday] ; March Holiday Guitar Practice. 8-3pm.
APRIL.
- 1 April 2011 [Friday] ; Commendation Day Performance. 10-12nn.
- 2 April 2011 [Saturday] ; Guitar Competition @ Yishun JC. 9-1pm.
- 13 April 2011 [Wednesday] ; Combined Interschool SYF Full Dress Rehearsal. 2-6pm.
- To Be Confirmed Through Balloting ; SYF Competition @ Republic Poly.
As you can see from the above, we have ALOT of events coming up for us. So please buck up. BEFORE the Guitar Exchange Programme on the 14th of March, YOU ARE TO MEMORISE YOUR PARTS BY THEN. If there is any questions, you can ask the teachers directly :)
If there is any particular practice you are unable to attend due to one reason or another, please tell the teachers BEFOREHAND. [These events will also be posted on the left sidebar for your quick reference] <<
Oh, another thing. NEXT TUESDAY [15 Feb 2011], there will be a measurement taking for the SYF costume. So please come to take your measurements :) There will be no guitar practice on that day, but you still have to come :)
Other than that, there's nothing much~ We're starting to sound like an ensemble more and more :) which is good! But sometimes out timings are abit off, so lets try to stay in tune and unite with one another okay :D
