Hello! Its been quite a long time since this blog is updated. Wonder whats up with Afiqah no updating. ohwell. Anyways, as you all should know by now, OUR 5TH ANNUAL GUITAR ENSEMBLE COMPETITION IS THIS SATURDAY! ITS ONLY 2 DAYS AWAY! D: Okay so here are the things you guys can catch up on if you all have not been attending one or two recent practices. - Ponticello and Tasto in some parts of Pirates Movement C. This has been added recently, and if you are not notified by this, please contact your respective section leaders :) And those who memorized the piece already, remember those parts in which you have to move your right hand appropriately! :) - Tanya's Tango tempo has changed. Well its actually Stargazer. The tempo is actually 60 Crotchet BPM. But since we have always been playing at the usual 80, it has been changed to 80BPM.(which is your usual stargazer you guys always play, so nothing to worry about here :) This tempo is also the same as babooshka, which is also 80BPM. - Not much changes for any parts, but please take note for the LOUD and soft for Tanya's Tango. Be sure on when to go loud and soft and create a nice flow~ :) Here are the details of the competition this coming Saturday; - Reporting Time; 7.45am [We have to reach YJC at 9am] - Reporting Venue; Performance Theater. - Actual Venue; Yishun Junior College. - Actual time for the whole event; 9am - 1pm. - Attire; School Uniform with School Badge and Tie. - We are the 3rd School to play amongst 9 other schools :) We might have lunch after that~ Thats all for now, there have not been any practice from tuesday onwards as it was cancelled due to Commendation Day on friday. Since we did not have any practice since tuesday, please practice at home~ I shall see you all on Saturday at 7.45am. LYSGE FIGHTING! :D JoanneG.~

Overview of our ensemble.
our initial roots.
From a humble beginning in 2006 with only 20 members, the Guitar Ensemble has grown both in character and strength. This year we managed to recruit a total of 26 secondary 1 members, making a total of 46 members in the ensemble. As a relatively new CCA, the ensemble too experienced its fair share of teething problems especially in the initial stages. However, with the support, commitment and dedication shown by its pioneer members, the ensemble managed to overcome these challenges.
We took part in SYF 2007, 2009 and was awarded Bronze and Silver respectively. The students practiced very hard to ensure a great performance for the competition. Practices were intensified to 3 times a week in preparation for this major project. The members have shown resilience in improving their guitar playing skills, and was rewarded in this event.
The ensemble is currently under the guidance and instruction of Mr Alvyn Eng.
