From a humble beginning in 2006 with only 20 members, the Guitar Ensemble has grown both in character and strength. This year we managed to recruit a total of 26 secondary 1 members, making a total of 46 members in the ensemble. As a relatively new CCA, the ensemble too experienced its fair share of teething problems especially in the initial stages. However, with the support, commitment and dedication shown by its pioneer members, the ensemble managed to overcome these challenges.
We took part in SYF 2007, 2009 and was awarded Bronze and Silver respectively. The students practiced very hard to ensure a great performance for the competition. Practices were intensified to 3 times a week in preparation for this major project. The members have shown resilience in improving their guitar playing skills, and was rewarded in this event.
The ensemble is currently under the guidance and instruction of Mr Alvyn Eng.

Heyy guitarists!!

We only have 9 PRACTICES left.. We only have to achieve our LAST 20% before syf. From today's practice, NOT everyone were on time eventhough Mr Eng was.. I hope you guitarists will come on time for practice as "the quality of the award depends on the quality of our practices."

Ok, enough of that. Today we recorded our song- pirates of the carribean and i have to say, it sounded quite good.. BUT there were a few errors. Though everyone makes mistakes, 80%-90% of our playing was great. But that's my opinion. I dont know bout you guitarists. So i guess we all have to work on our mistakes and dont repeat them.. REMEMBER to practice! If you are stress, use the 'stress ball' that Mr Eng has given us.. Mr Eng has done ALOT for us and the only thing we could give him in return is how we are going to do for syf.. I hope you guitarists have this mentality. SEE YOU GUYS on Saturdayyy!!!! :D
