CHANGE IN PIECE FOR COL!

Hey all! There is a change in piece for COL and it will be TANYA'S TANGO instead of Una Noche! TAKE NOTE~ Practice the correct pieces please!
In total we will be playing Pirates and Tanya's Tango, the reason is still unknown and the teachers will explain to us soon, i guess.

Hey i'm back to update this guitar blog :)
Sorry for not updating, but as you can see, afiqah has updated it recently.
So Mid-Year Exams just finished and we're getting our results and script checking now :) Hope all guitarists received their desired results :)
As you might have known, there is a performance for the assembly program on NEXT TUESDAY, so we will have a practice somewhere this week. Please make yourself avaliable as its so-called a "refresher's course" since you might have forgot all the songs ald. Haha, but if there are anymore info, i'll personally find you in school, sms you all and update this blog. Till then, stay awesome :)

Practices To SYF.

Hey guitarists. As you know, there was a so-called 'lecture' that was held on thurday afternoon after school. I hope this lecture woke all of you up.

This are the practices that will be held in preparation for our syf.
- ~~5th April 2011 (Tuesday) - 2.30pm to 5.30pm.~~
- 9th April 2011 (Saturday) - 8am to 11am
- 12 April 2011 (Tuesday) - 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
- 15 April 2011 (Friday) - 2pm to 5pm.
- 16 April 2011 (Saturday) - 8am to 11am.
- *19 April 2011 (Tuesday) - 2.30pm to 5.30pm.
- 23 April 2011 (Saturday) - 8am to 11am.
- 25 April 2011 (Monday) - 2pm to 4pm.
- 26 April 2011 (Tuesday) [SYF day] - 8.30am to 9.30am (Practice); 12nn (SYF)

As you can see, there are only 8 practices left to syf. I want you all to put in your best effort and if you are unable to attend any practices, PLEASE TELL BEFOREHAND. dont wait until the last minute. These practices are important and crucial for our syf. Everything depends on these practices and how seriously we take it. If you all are going to idle away your time again on these practices, you can forget about getting a silver for syf. Thanks. Seeya all on saturday.

Heyy guitarists!!

We only have 9 PRACTICES left.. We only have to achieve our LAST 20% before syf. From today's practice, NOT everyone were on time eventhough Mr Eng was.. I hope you guitarists will come on time for practice as "the quality of the award depends on the quality of our practices."

Ok, enough of that. Today we recorded our song- pirates of the carribean and i have to say, it sounded quite good.. BUT there were a few errors. Though everyone makes mistakes, 80%-90% of our playing was great. But that's my opinion. I dont know bout you guitarists. So i guess we all have to work on our mistakes and dont repeat them.. REMEMBER to practice! If you are stress, use the 'stress ball' that Mr Eng has given us.. Mr Eng has done ALOT for us and the only thing we could give him in return is how we are going to do for syf.. I hope you guitarists have this mentality. SEE YOU GUYS on Saturdayyy!!!! :D

Hello! Its been quite a long time since this blog is updated. Wonder whats up with Afiqah no updating. ohwell. Anyways, as you all should know by now, OUR 5TH ANNUAL GUITAR ENSEMBLE COMPETITION IS THIS SATURDAY! ITS ONLY 2 DAYS AWAY! D: Okay so here are the things you guys can catch up on if you all have not been attending one or two recent practices. - Ponticello and Tasto in some parts of Pirates Movement C. This has been added recently, and if you are not notified by this, please contact your respective section leaders :) And those who memorized the piece already, remember those parts in which you have to move your right hand appropriately! :) - Tanya's Tango tempo has changed. Well its actually Stargazer. The tempo is actually 60 Crotchet BPM. But since we have always been playing at the usual 80, it has been changed to 80BPM.(which is your usual stargazer you guys always play, so nothing to worry about here :) This tempo is also the same as babooshka, which is also 80BPM. - Not much changes for any parts, but please take note for the LOUD and soft for Tanya's Tango. Be sure on when to go loud and soft and create a nice flow~ :) Here are the details of the competition this coming Saturday; - Reporting Time; 7.45am [We have to reach YJC at 9am] - Reporting Venue; Performance Theater. - Actual Venue; Yishun Junior College. - Actual time for the whole event; 9am - 1pm. - Attire; School Uniform with School Badge and Tie. - We are the 3rd School to play amongst 9 other schools :) We might have lunch after that~ Thats all for now, there have not been any practice from tuesday onwards as it was cancelled due to Commendation Day on friday. Hey guys! I want to say that we are IMPROVING and are already at the 80% mark. Now, we are putting our 80% effort to achieve the last 20% mark and making our songs sound 1, but will sound like more than 1 guitar! So, I guess we should CONTINUE to strive for our goal - GOLD WITH HONOUR! Every practice will help WHEN we work hard.

I would like to say about our soundtest at RP recently... Eventhough we screw up, i can tell that we are improving bit by bit when i heard the video. BUT it doesn't mean that we are precise! We are accurate at some parts and not at others. I know i had screw up and i'm working to improve it. The question is: ARE YOU doing the same thing? LEt's all work on our weak areas and make our song sound precise before syf.

Tomorrow is guitar practice and UNFORTUNATELY Mr Eng is not able to attend. Thus, Joanne Giam will be our teaher. Let's cooperate and make the practice effective! :)

Today's practice was funny as Mr Eng crack a few jokes BUT I hope we all will REMEMBER the POINTS that he and Ms Wong told us. REMEMBER: try not to play your parts when the instructor is telling each section/everyone something IMPORTANT.. :)

Err, okay, hi.
Regarding today's SYF Soundtest @ RP, it wasnt as desirable as i thought it would be. It could be a whole lot better, thats for sure. When we went there, out first round was already screwed. 1ST ROUND! On the actual day, we only have ONE AND ONLY chance = 1 round ONLY. It was a major screwup. As the section leaders [xueying, dino (in place of me), Fitri, Syahidah, Denise] stated, it was horrible. We weren't even playing together. And i agree.
On the podium, every sound you make is obvious to me. Who is playing and who is not.
The audiences, remember, CAN HEAR YOUR EVERY SINGLE MISTAKE. it is that obvious. You might not think its obvious but it really is.
Its like somebody playing an off pitch/ note right smack in your face.
Hmm, but when Mr Eng came we sounded abit better though.. We did some stuff, then our time slot was up D:
We went back to school, did sectionals then ensemble again. we're kinda improving though. so, keep it up~ ;D
well, we apparently have a video of our performance at RP. The soundtest day. afiqah will send me the video soon and i'll post it up here as soon as i get it :)
But the recorded one is one WITH the section leaders and one WITHOUT the section leaders i guess. But in the mean time, i took some peektures while we were there!

Hello~
As you can see, i've changed abit of the blogskin again. Not that the previous one is too old and stuff, but this is more organized.
On the left panel << , there are more sections which you can browse more easily and efficiently. :) Hope you guys like the new re-organization! ^^ Anyway, today's practice was quite okay. We did some practices on the pull offs and hammer ons during the first part of the practice. Then onzome, then sectionals. You guys are gradually putting effort in your sectionals and working with your section leaders, which is good! Keep up the good work and in no time we're gonna be improving tremendously! :D Continue to be focused in your sectionals and remember, SECTIONALS IS TO PRACTICE, NOT TO CHITCHAT AND PLAY. Please bear this in mind. As i was going around seeing you people practice, i can see you're putting your best effort in mastering the parts you are unsure of. :) We had another onzome before going home, and it was quite fine. Due to the lack of players in the cahon section and guitar one, it is not as good, but it is still great :) This shows that we are improving as a whole! YAY -claps claps- Although some parts of movement C , some of you are still unsure, but at least you've tried to play and continue the song without stopping. Thats really great! :) Still, section leaders, focus more on the parts that Mr Eng has highlighted from all the songs we've been practicing~ After that, we had a 'test' on whether we memorized our scores or not. The 5 of them did well, and next week will be guitar 2's turn! We are going to stay back for another half an hour everytime after practice on saturdays so that we will practice on our own, or being tested by the teachers. Well done guitarist! :D Continue to do well! :)

About the SYF Soundtest rehearsal NEXT TUESDAY, the pupils involved [senior onzome] are to leave your classroom when the bell goes at 12.25pm and gather at the performance theater first. We will then have our break before setting off to Republic Poly.
*those who are affected by orals, please tell your respective teachers that you will have a soundtest and unable to come for oral on that day. The teacher will then arrange another timing for you to take your oral, dont worry :)

There's nothing much other than these important stuff, so please take note! We're doing well, really :) Every week i am able to spot some mistakes here and there, and every week you all are improving as a whole. It really is awesome to see that :D AND REMEMBER!
PUNCTUALITY. Do not take your own sweet time to STROLL to the practice venue. You are wasting others' time by doing so. AND REMEMBER TO MEMORIZE YOUR SCORES, PRACTICE!

Here are the latest updates about the practices!
We changed all our guitar strings today, first 3 strings all black and last 3 are all silver. AWESOME RIGHT. :D
Dont worry if it sounds out of tune at times, cos new strings tend to get out of tune VERY VERY OFTEN. So please get your tuners ready and ready to tune away when there's a need!
About today's practice, wasn't here on the first half due to tutorials so i dont know exactly what went on. But from what i've heard, we played Una Noche, Pirates And Tanya's Tango. Mr Eng also taught us how to change our strings so we did that for about an hour or so..
Full ensemble today was...quite okay. I felt that we can do better and movement C was a major screw up at first, but it got better :) Tanya's Tango, as usual, the beginning isnt that impactful enough. So please work on that, Section Leaders, please practice Movement C Of pirates with your section to get them familiarized with the song and beat :)
Uhh, we're gonna be tested TOMORROW. You are to remember Tanya's Tango & Pirates Movement A as the teachers will be testing you. So please memorize your scores! Other than that, that should be all. Oh one more thing.

MAJOR NOTICE;
DO NOT BE LATE FOR PRACTICE, WHEN WE START AT 2PM MEANS WE ARE READY TO PLAY AT 2PM AND NOT COME STROLLING IN TAKING YOUR OWN SWEET TIME SETTING UP YOUR STUFF.

Hello all :)
Well, i have not been updating much cos its been quite a hectic week/couple of weeks.
Anyway, we finished movement C today~ AWESOME :D Its an accomplishment right?
But wait, dont be too complacent yet! We might have finished the song, but we're still far away from the actual mark. We managed to finished ALL the movements today continuously, which was great :) The last time we played this, we screwed up big time at Movement C.
So as you guys can hear for yourselves, we've improved abit :) -clapsclaps-
Your Section Leaders and members have put in alot of effort in coaching you and guiding you. So please dont let them down. PLEASE. PRACTICE. AT. HOME. Some of the section leaders might have pointed out your weak bars in which YOU have to master it ASAP. And even Mr Eng himself have also pointed out section by section on which bars we need to improve on.
So please work on those, or rather focus more on those during Sectionals.

There is actually a whole bunch of things coming up and all of us are involved. We also have new sets of rules or rather some basic ones.
- Starting from THIS WEEK, we have to go back to practice on SATURDAYS; 8 - 11AM. Some of the saturdays we might not have practice due to one reason or another, but till then, we have practice on saturdays. Cancellation of practices will be told to you via THIS BLOG / SMS / Notice.

[The following is a summary of the paper/notice that you have received today.
- ALL members are to arrive 15 MINUTES earlier before the designated time, so as to do some administrative stuff (set up the chairs, tune guitars etc.)
- You should have your A4 BLACK FILE, PERSONAL CLIP-ON TUNER & PENCIL[!!!!] for every practice/event.
- Failure to attend any practice, please pass your Parent's Letter/ MC to any teacher-in-charge the very next practice. No attendance will be given for any non-valid absence.
- Members are to also observe the School values and greet the teachers & instructer before every practice. And also thank them after practice.
- Members are to arrange back the tables and chairs neatly after every practice.
- Members must strive to MEMORISE their parts at least 1 MONTH before the actual event.
- All members are to respect and help one another.

Other than that, there's nothing much~ We're starting to sound like an ensemble more and more :) which is good! But sometimes out timings are abit off, so lets try to stay in tune and unite with one another okay :D

Hey guitarists.
What i want you guys to do this weekend is to reflect.
Reflect on how you play all the syf pieces. Relect on what you did wrong or right. Reflect on what YOU did in sectionals.
Sectionals is not all fun and talk. If you dont take sectionals seriously, you'll never play together as a section, moreover an ensemble.
We're actually considering a higher level of pushing you guys now. If you guys still dont take this seriously and not taking syf seriously.
You people know what you did in sectionals, only YOU know if you're focused or not.
I find that there is no point forcing you guys to practice and practice when some of you dont even TRY your best. This is just wasting your section leader's time, your sectional time and your OWN time.
Therefore, some actions may be taken. You guys better start taking this seriously now. Whether you like it or not.
This is not a scolding or nagging. This is a polite warning to everybody now.
We shall see again on tuesday.

Hello guitarist~, back here to update again.
Err, on last thursday, we had an informal practice at the performance theater.
Thanks to those who came, especially the section leaders. There MAY be more practices of such, if we think you guys need extra practice. [most prob not, cos you're gonna have to come back on saturday for the following few months.] But if you guys wanna have individual sectionals, the Thursday time slot is always open. But full ensemble practice will be different though. We did tanya's tango, screwed up la bamba [HAHA!] and tried mastering Pirates movement A & B. Mov C, we did not have much time cos i promised to end before 5.

We're gonna have to do Movement C on next tuesday and una noche too. So section leaders, please follow up on your sectionals or smth.
On the friday practice, we began with Sectionals for an hour then ensemble. Mr Eng had to go to another school so we had sectionals for awhile again then ensemble again. Err we have improved a tiny bit. But there's still room for improvement though :) Practice hard everybody! :D

Oh pertaining to the competition, it will be held on April 2 2011. Its a Guitar Competition between the different schools. And there will be another exchange prog to be held in OUR school on 14 March 2011 Its a school holiday~
So look forward to it! :D And these events will also broaden our exposure with different schools and also listen to their syf pieces :D

Other than that, there's nothing much ald. PLEASE PRACTICE HARD. :D We can do it! :D

Hihi guitarists! :) well, first off, today was quite an okay practice. We had sectionals like 3/4 of the time and we performed Tanya's Tango for the new sec 1s. Anyways, i hope your sectionals went well :)
DONT FORGET TO GET YOUR TUNERS AND FILL UP YOUR SYF PROGRESS CHART BY THIS FRIDAY~
they're gonna be checking on these.
Btw, i am gonna host an INFORMAL PRACTICE. Its this thursday, from 2.15pm to before 5 if possible and meet at PERFORMANCE THEATER. This is to let us master up pirates and maybe start on Una Noche as soon as possible. I am NOT making this compulsory as i find it no use.
If you want to come, come. If you dont want to, then dont. At the end of the day, you're at the losing end, not me. So i dont really mind.
If you come, all the better as you benefit and familiarise yourself more with the score. If you dont then you're losing out. But thats fine with me, as i said.
I understand that some of you Have tutorials on thursday, please come after tutorials if you want to. We're gonna practice at the performance theater as guzheng isnt using it. this is an INFORMAL practice, so its only us and no Mr Eng.
We're gonna do some sectionals also and i know that my conducting is kinda fail and you all have to repeat the thing like everytime i make a mistake. So i apologize.
You all should know that this is going to pay off soon. No more slacking, hard core practice. Saturday practice will only commence after CNY.
You guitarist should know what mr eng said today, so im not going to repeat anymore.
I may be abit 'angry' as some of you mentioned but just to let you guys know, im still that friendly Joanne Laughallthetime Giam (as said on my facebook, hahaha) :D its just that when its practice, we practice. I cant be fooling around everytime right. Theres a right time for that. Hahaha. So thats about it.

Sorry for not posting yesterday right after the open house.
But i want to say a BIG THANKYOU for those who arrived at 7am on Saturday. Really really appricated it. Anyways, thanks for enduring my ameteur conducting skills. HAHA.
Well guitarists, it really paid off. We gave it our all and it was great :) So much better than the sound check rehersals the day before. At least 20% better.
BUT DONT STOP HERE, WE STILL CAN IMPROVE A WHOLE LOT MORE! :D
I'm sure you guys are really happy and proud of yourselves. Great work! :)
And thanks to the juniors for handling the Guitar Booth in the Canteen!
I hope we continue to improve as this is one of our syf pieces too. So lets work together alright! :)

Guitar Practices will resume on tuesday as per normal. Please come 15 mins earlier than the designated time to set up and tune your guitars. Please check with your respective Section Leaders if you have outside-of-cca-time sectionals to help you guitarists improve on your guitar skills! :)

hello guitarists!
How are your few days back at school? :)
Anyway, here's an update of what we did today, more of less. [senior batch]
we were told how to file our nails so it would be easier for us to play the guitar and will not have our nails getting trapped in the strings problem anymore :)
Those with short nails, please grow them! You have until the first week of FEBRURAY!
Then we did the scales i guess? sorry i went off halfway, so i didnt know whata happened after 4pm. Haha. Hope you guys did okay for the syf piece~
Please be reminded that there will be Practice THIS FRIDAY [7 JAN 2011] - 2pm to 5pm. BOTH JUNIOR AND SENIORS ARE INVOLVED.

Attendance today was not as good as expected especially for the JUNIORS. Many of you didnt turn up for practice today. YOU are supposed to find out when is practice dates and YOU are supposed to ask around and not wait for us to tell you. Ask the teacher in charge or even your friends. Heys guitarist! Sorry for not updating for last practice. Been kinda busy :/
My apologies :) Well, i shall recap on today's practice.
Today we did the Scales [2 Octaves], Appregios and Bass Scales.
We also had an audition today~ It took up almost 3/4 of the practice.
If Mr Eng signed on all your 3 sections on your paper, then you will NOT need to play either of the section again for the next audition. [SEE BELOW FOR MORE DETAILS.]

Last weeks practice; A Short Summary.
We had Student Conductor tryouts, in conducting the warmups. Hahaha, pardon us if we were kinda confusing and misleading. It was our first time anyways :) Well, if you guys have a chance to try, it would be a great experience :) Did the pieces and scales again. So thats about it for last week's practice.

Few KEY POINTS to take note;
- ALWAYS PRACTICE YOUR SCALES WITH A METRONOME. NO METRONOME = OUT OF BEAT. [You can find an online metronome link on the left panel under the LINKS section.
- WHEN PRACTICING APPREGIOS, 1ST BEAT AND 3RD BEAT MUST BE EMPHASIZED.

For the NEXT AUDITION; [V.IMPT!]
The next audition will be EARLY JANUARY on the 1 OF THE SOLO PIECES we've learnt recently. As the next full ensemble practice will be after the holidays and when sch reopens, PLEASE TAKE THIS LONG BREAK AND HOLIDAYS TO PRACTICE! DONT SLACK! And choose the pieces carefully :)

Heys peeps! Sorry for not updating yesterday on Guitar practice! :X
Well, the last guitar practice's attendance was good :D Almost everybody was here~
Lets keep up this attendance shall we? :)
Oh btw, the SEC 1 NAMES ARE UP! :D Its on the left panel there <<. If there is anything wrong with the names, please leave a tag or tell me! :)
To start off this post, i'm gonna recap what we did during the last practice :)

Learn the song, 'In The Hall Of The Mountain King'
This piece is one of the pieces that you may want to choose during your audition early next year. This song is basically a theme song from a famous comic 'Sonic The Hedgehog' And it has a pretty catchy beat/tune. It's really fun to learn, and one of the livelier pieces among others :) Just remember, the beginning is a PIZZICATO [well, it reminds you of pizza though xD] Also take note of the dynamic changes throughout the song if you are doing this piece :)

Sectionals on Tanya's Tango, Pirates, La Bamba
Secitonals were kinda well-run during the last practice :) I hope everybody have familiarized themselves with some of the tricky parts as well as the whole song. If there is anything you want to clarify, please do not hesitate to approach your section leaders or Mr Eng. :) This can also increase the productivity rate of the sectionals itself. We shall continue to work harder and practice harder both at home and during practice alrights! :)

Scales, Apreggios and CMaj Bass Strings
We have improved quite abit on our scales! :) -clapclap- Well, first off, we have less buzzing sounds when playing on the bass strings, which is awesome :D We should continue to keep it up and improve! Scales are pretty much alright, abit of tweaks here and there but should be fine :) For apreggios, some of your section mates are still unsure of which fingerings that need to be used for both the patterns. Please guide them along accordingly~ :)

Open House!
We're having our school's open house on the 27th of november! the timings have not been told to us yet, but please please PLEASE recap on LA BAMBA. We're gonna have somebody else in our ensemble to play the cajon since mr eng is not there on the day itself :) Any volunteers? :)

Hmmm, i dont think there is anything else to highlight to you guys. everything has been stated here :) Well, if there is anything that needs to be added into the post, don't hesitate to tell me/afiqah. :D

Heys! I'm here to update you guitarist about whats going on during guitar practice again today :) Well, almost every practice, i'll post a new blog post, so you peeps wont forget what we've learnt~ :)

What we've learnt today;

- RECEIVED MOVEMENT B OF PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN (YAY!)
You should receive the Mov B Pirates today and should have started practicing abit of it by now :) Almost everything you need to know is written there and the 3bold lines under the note/on the stem of the note is TREMELO. Try practicing it while varying the different dynamics.
And yet again, IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THIS SCORE, PLEASE AUTOMATICALLY PROCEED TO ASK YOUR SECTION LEADERS/TEACHERS-IN-CHARGE/MR ENG FOR ONE.

- C MAJOR SCALE 2 OCTAVES [VARYING WITH DIFFERENT REST STROKE COMBINATIONS; i m / i a / m a .
Please try varying your C major scales with different combinations so as to develop a balanced and strong technique.

- SECTIONAL PRACTICES.
As said by Mr Eng, those emphasized parts, please work on it during sectionals. :)

Thats about it.. Nothing much today.
We will most likely be playing LA BAMBA during the next practice, so please also practice your various parts/sections.

Anyways, Today's practice was quite a productive one as most of you peeps turned up for practice! :) Its a good start, so lets keep it up, shall we?

Here's what we've done so far! and what you HAVE to practice ;
Ensemble Warm-ups!
- 2 OCTAVE C MAJOR SCALE (STARTING ON 5TH STRING)
- C MAJOR APPREGIOS
- 1 OCTAVE C MAJOR SCALE AT 7TH POSITION - BASS STRINGS
Basically, these are the warm up practices that can be found on the overleaf of your Post Exam Guitar Program 2011, given to you earlier. Please check out your copy to find out what are the beats per minute [bmp] you are required to play for the Scales and also the TIME FRAME TARGET in which you have to learn and perfect it before then.

Solo pieces from Trinity Grade 1 Exam Pieces.
These pieces are given to you today, and currently, to a total of 3 SCORES.
- In The Hall Of The Mountain King [from Peer Gynt Suite no.1 op.46]
- Vals
- El Conde Olinos [A Spanish Folk Song]

YOU are required to learn 1 OF THESE PIECES to perform for the audition (and yet again, refer to the Post Exam Guitar Program 2011; UNDER SECTION 2, its stated there.)

SYF Piece, Mov A Pirates
And lastly, our SYF piece. The different movements of the Pirates of the Caribbean.
CURRENTLY, WE ONLY HAVE MOVEMENT A; PIRATES. MOVEMENT B & C WILL BE GIVEN IN THE NEXT PRACTICE You are to learn your individual parts and try to perfect it so that we can move on during Practice :)

Not forgetting, TANYA'S TANGO which is also one of our SYF pieces. Please try to recap and re-learn your parts incase you already washed it out of your brain :)
LA BAMBA will most likely be played on our CCA Open House. So therefore, learn and practice it too~

Regarding the Statement Of Commitment Letter
You are to consider throughly and sign it. And please pass one of the copies to Mr Eng and keep one for yourself.

We[Xueying, Me and Afiqah] are considering whether to book a chalet for the Guitar Camp so we could bond errr, better. So i need you guys opinions about it.
But if it is not approved by Mdm Maiza/Ms Koh, we shall just stick to the bbq at East Coast.
The dates have not really been confirmed due to the avaliability of the rooms.

THERE WILL BE AN ASSESMENT ON FRIDAY, 23 APRIL 2010.
All classes that are NOT graduating will HAVE TO attend the Assesment this Friday. (FOR THOSE IN MR ENG'S SENIOR CLASS.)
Graduating classes, you can all stay at home to study :)
You will have to learn the following;
- Scales [Please MEMORIZE the scales as you cannot see the scales during the assesment!]
The Scales includes,
C Major Scale,
G Major Scale,
A Minor Scale,
E Phrygian Scale.
You can find all these scales in your GUITAR INITIAL sheet given to you. :)
- Sight-Reading [You are required to play a sample sight reading.]
All the sight reading that will be tested will be taken from 'Sound At Sight Guitar Grade 1' that was given to you.
You are also required to play a sample sight reading in 2 time OR 4 time and 3 time. Please study and practice them!
- Solo Playing [You are required to play a solo piece either;
1. MUSETTE
OR
2. ITS JUST A MATTER OF TIME
Please choose ONLY ONE of the pieces to play on friday.

This is only an ASSESMENT and dont worry, there is no fail or anything. :) Relax people! Mr Eng will be judging us on our performance and POSTURE. IMPORTANT! Sit up straight!

These are the Info that you will need on Friday;
- Venue; Go to Performance Theater to get your guitars first before proceeding to the classroom.
- Time; Report at 1.30PM.

You can still choose songs and sing to it, anybody can choose songs.

At the end of this month, we may be performing
for students coming from Jakarta.
In the meantime, you may choose songs that you would like to perform.
One of them is suggested to be a popular Indonesian song.
You can sing if you like.
A song that can be played in a short time would be better.
It's not confirmed yet so for more details I will let you guys know.

This is all happening after the exams so don't worry about the performance yet.

Tuesday will be a very exciting and surprising day for you guys,
so remember to practice your "master piece" and do your "art work".
Master piece : practice ex. 53.
Art work : cut and paste your own parts on at least 3 piece of paper.

Games like
- Soccer
- Basketball
- Handball
and etc. will be conducted during practices soon enough.
Mostly games that can include EVERYONE.
BUT in order to play those games,
you are to practice real hard during practices.

I have an assignment for you guitarists ;)

You guys have 2 weeks to choose a song for the guitar ensemble to play.
The song must include at least :
- Guitar 1
- Guitar 2
- Bass
it can be of any genre but choose songs that can be played on the school guitars.
BUT one of the guitar parts must be the melodies to the song.
you can't play a song just with the lead and bass right?
you guys have till the 20th of August to find a song and give it to Mr Yeo.
Your first "activity " has started, please spread to all guitarists.
This is something new so i hope you guys would find and share a song or two for the ensemble to play. Please don't be afraid/ shy. Who knows we could continue doing this kind of activity and make practices enjoyable and play something different once in a while~
